Monies raised by Ruby Granite in Mochdre will be donated to WIRE Wildlife Rescue whose rescue teams are currently working to save animals across the 4 million hectares of destroyed land. Donations made via JustGiving of £50 ($94 AUD) or more will secure a personalised stone Koala made in respect of the estimated 1 billion animals that have been killed in one of the worst droughts in Australia’s history.

Thirty, stone Koalas have been made in the hopes of raising £1500 (around 2,900 AUD) for the charity. Each purchased stone animal can be personalised with words of the donator’s choice. The stone grey figures can be free standing or made to hang and all money raised by purchasing one will go directly to the cause.

Ruby Granite’s managing director, Ross Salter said “The news of the devastating fires across Australia inspired us to raise money any way we can. The work that WIRE Wildlife Rescue are doing is vital to the survival of so many species affected and so we created the stone Koalas as a way of showing we stand with Australia in these horrific times.”
